North Cyprus Car Hire Pickup: What to Bring and Check

Before the day: booking
A smooth pickup starts with the booking. Choose your dates, car and pickup point online and enter your full name exactly as it is written on your driving licence. The minimum driver age is 26. There is no deposit at booking: you receive an email confirming that we have received your request. If you are arriving by plane, send us your flight details so delivery can be arranged for your arrival.
Where you can collect the car
You can pick up at Ercan Airport (ECN), Kyrenia, Nicosia, Famagusta or İskele and Long Beach. Delivery to your hotel or another address in these areas is free. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 08:30–17:00 and Saturday 08:30–13:00, and our team speaks Turkish and English. After booking you can message us on WhatsApp to confirm where and when we meet.
What to bring
Bring your valid driving licence; it must be presented at handover. Have your booking confirmation email to hand, and keep your phone charged so we can reach you at the meeting point. Plan for the £200 security deposit described below, and for the rental balance, which is paid at handover.
The £200 deposit, explained
A refundable £200 security deposit is collected when you receive the car. It is separate from the rental total. When the car comes back undamaged, the deposit is returned. Because nothing is taken at booking, you only deal with money once you are standing next to the car.
Handover checklist
Take a few minutes before you drive away. Walk around the car and point out any existing scratches or dents so they are noted, and take your own photos too. Check the fuel level and ask how full the tank should be on return. Try the air conditioning, lights and indicators. Ask where the spare wheel or repair kit is, and save our contact number in your phone. If anything is unclear in the rental agreement, ask before you sign; that is what the handover is for.
On the road
Traffic in North Cyprus drives on the left. If you normally drive on the right, our North Cyprus driving guide covers the rules worth knowing. The car must stay in the north for the whole rental and cannot cross into the south.
Returning the car
Return the car at the drop-off point you chose when booking. Leave a little time for the return check, bring the fuel to the level agreed at handover, and remove your belongings, including anything in the boot and door pockets. Once the car is checked and comes back undamaged, your £200 deposit is returned.
